If you’ve been Googling photographers in Fargo ND and getting decision fatigue, I see you. There are lots of options—but when it comes to brand photography, not everyone speaks your language.
This post? It’s part behind-the-scenes, part personal journal, and part FAQ I wish more clients asked. So if you’re a business owner, founder, or creative looking for photos that actually work (not just sit pretty), you’re in the right place.
Let’s break down what brand sessions are really like—at least here at the EE studio.
What’s the difference between a brand shoot and a headshot session?
A headshot gives you a single image to use in professional spaces like LinkedIn or your website bio. A brand shoot tells the story of who you are, what you do, and what it feels like to work with you through a curated collection of incredible images.
If you want your photos to actually feel like your brand (think your style, your vibe, your spark) book a brand shoot. That’s where we create some really incredible work together.
What should I bring to a brand session?
Come ready to relax, have fun, and bring your best energy. When you show up as you, the magic happens. And yes, you’ll love your photos even more because of it. If props fit your brand vibe (especially if you’re a product-based business) we’ll go over what makes sense to bring. I’ve got a pretty solid stash at the studio too, so you won’t need to overpack.
Outfits? Plan for 2–3 looks. Most clients change quickly while I’m styling the next set.
Who actually photographs me?
Good question! If you’re booking The Studio Edit, you’ll be photographed by Olivia from my Studio Team. She’s been shooting professionally since 2011, and she’s so good at making you feel comfortable while capturing you at your best. I handle the edits personally so you still get that signature Elisabeth Eden finish.
What if I don’t know how to pose?
That’s what we’re here for. You don’t need to know a thing. We guide you through poses that feel natural and flattering. There’s a little direction, a few examples, a lot of hype, and zero pressure.
How do you plan what we shoot?
I don’t just show up with a camera and wing it. Every shoot starts with strategy. I think through what will best support your brand, not just what’s trending or what I personally like. (Though yes, I’ve definitely said, “Can we try this one for my own website?” and you let me live my best creative life!)
We collaborate to design your dream session together, so every pose, outfit, and prop has a purpose. Whether it’s for your homepage, product launch, or press feature, I’m always thinking a few steps ahead about how the images will work for you.
How long is a typical session?
Our Classic Brand Session is typically an hour which is perfect for a quick refresh or seasonal update. Full brand shoots run longer, and include more planning, pre-shoot consults, and multiple locations or creative concepts. We’ll decide together what makes the most sense for your needs.
I’m nervous. Is that normal?
Totally. Being in front of the camera can feel vulnerable. My job is to make the experience relaxed and low-pressure. We laugh a lot, have fun shooting b-roll, and you leave with images that feel like you (just a bit more polished!).
